'That's a pretty personal question'

As a LFW virgin, sitting in row A for PPQ's Spring/Summer 2008 collection at the BFC tent was a BIG DEAL! Amongst the likes of Hilary Alexander, renowned stylist and Fashion Director at London Fashion Week, Frederick Macpherson of the late Les Incompétents band, as well as IT girl Tara Rocks, the pre-show atmosphere was energetic despite its breakfast time slot. Opening the show, newly 'scouted' model, Peaches Geldof, looked confident, surprisingly undeterred by her debut walk being in towering stilettos... and shortly following on from her, model-of-the-moment Agyness Deyn grabbed the attention of all the industry insiders, in her first appearance in London since returning from New York's Fashion Week.

The main line women's Spring/Summer 2008 collection was full of juxtapositions, entitled Palma Violet and desribed by the designers, Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker as a season crossing 'tropcialness with bondage', the collection was a haze of monochrome stripes and floral prints with gold chains and boxy jackets. Patent booties with ankle high socks also helped to put a 'trashy' edge onto more feminine outfits, in an unmistakably 80s feeling collection. The strongly pencilled eyebrows, reminiscent of frida kahlo's, created a dynamic feel, which was in keeping with the slick, poker-straight ponytails which were styled to convey strength at PPQ, according to an interview on wwd.com.
